| Group Health Insurance for Businesses |
|
| Why should I
offer group health insurance to my employees?
It is rare now that a good employee will not want their
employer to provide health benefits. If you don't provide them, the
employee will likely go to an employer who will provide them. What is left
for you are employees who cannot get the better jobs, sometimes not the
best employees. |
| Is it
Expensive?
There are many options now, both in benefits and cost
sharing, which may make benefits more affordable to the employer and more
available to the employee. |
| Can't I just
offer individual coverage to my favorite employees?
The labor laws require that all employees be treated
equally. That means that you cannot offer to some what you won't offer to
others.
What that also means, is that if you offer health
benefits, you must offer group health benefits. If all you offer is
individual coverage, and employee could conceivably be declined coverage
for medical reasons. A group policy for 2-50 employees cannot decline
employees, no matter how sick they are, so all employees will get equal
treatment under the laws. |
| How can I find
out the cost of coverage?
The process is simple. First, we will need a census of
your employees who are eligible by virtue of working 30 hours per week or
more. You can download a census form here
and fax it back to us at 818-337-7486.
Next, we will need a bit of information about your
company and its operations and what sort of coverage is desired. We can
obtain that information in a short telephone call. So please provide your
contact information when you return the census form.
That's it. Now we are set to get proposals. We are
appointed with every major health insurance carrier, including Kaiser, so
you don't need to go anywhere else. Let us do the shopping for you. |
